Comunidades Sustentables de la Sierra Madre

Proyecto de transición hacia comunidades sustentables dentro del bosque que es parte de la biorregión de la Sierra Madre Oriental que abarca la Región Huasteca y Zona Media en el Estado de San Luis Potosí.

Tomando como base la perspectiva biorregional que considera debe existir un cuidado del ambiente basado en características locales, esta perspectiva enfatiza las singularidades ambientales de las regiones, motiva al consumo de productos locales (alimentos, materiales), la cría de ganado a pequeña escala, promueve el cultivo de especies nativas de la región, con el fin de lograr la sustentabilidad en armonía con la biorregión.

En resumen, la gente debe conocer la ecología, economía y cultura del lugar en donde vive y debe comprometerse a que sus decisiones diarias sean a favor de la región. Queremos ser pues una comunidad pluricultural e incluyente, viviendo en plenitud, paz y armonía con la Madre Tierra y con todos los seres que habitamos en esta casa común.

A project transitioning towards sustainable communities within the forest that is part of the Sierra Madre Oriental bioregion, encompassing the Huasteca and Central Zone regions of the state of San Luis Potosí.

Based on the bioregional perspective, which considers environmental stewardship to be rooted in local characteristics, this approach emphasizes the unique environmental features of the regions, encourages the consumption of local products (food, materials), supports small-scale livestock farming, and promotes the cultivation of native species, all with the aim of achieving sustainability in harmony with the bioregion.

In short, people must understand the ecology, economy, and culture of the place where they live and commit to making daily decisions that benefit the region. We aspire to be a multicultural and inclusive community, living in fullness, peace, and harmony with Mother Earth and all beings who inhabit this common home.
