🌍 IKI-GAIA · A Pioneer Eco-Village in Its Foundational Stage

IKI-GAIA is a pioneering eco-village and rural entrepreneurship project located in a unique area of the Axarquía, within a Territorial Interest Zone (ZIT) of high ecological and water value. After more than 7 years searching for the right land, its founders chose this 240-hectare territory for its permanent springs, underground water abundance, and extraordinary biodiversity.

Now in its third year, IKI-GAIA is in a key pioneering phase and opens itself to co-creators, rural entrepreneurs and changemakers who wish to actively participate in building new ways of living, working and inhabiting the land.

🌱 A Living Vision of Rural Repopulation

IKI-GAIA is a real-life experiment in rural repopulation and sovereignty, integrating:

• Food sovereignty (edible forests, syntropic agriculture, biodiversity)
• Educational sovereignty (living, intergenerational and self-directed learning)
• Energy and housing sovereignty (autonomy, bioconstruction, self-management)
• Community and economic sovereignty (local jobs, cooperation, rural employment)

💧 Biotope of Sana-Action

At the heart of the project lies the creation of a Biotope of Sana-Action: a regenerative living system where water retention landscapes, natural ecosystems and human habitats work together to heal the land while supporting conscious community life.

🏡 What Is Already Happening

• A multi-use socio-cultural center is already operational, currently open to members and events, and expanding toward full public access.
• Eco-caravan parking is active and expanding its capacity, allowing more people to stay, collaborate and experience the project.
• The long-term vision is the creation of a bioclimatic camping, enabling members to live more stably in their own constructions, caravans, yurts or mobile homes, or to rent IKI-GAIA bungalows on a temporary or permanent basis.

🌿 What We Are Building Next

• Residential educational programs inspired by forest schools, Schetinin pedagogy, Montessori and self-directed learning.
• Edible forests, a Mediterranean botanical park and regenerative landscapes.
• Sustainable residential nuclei connected through water and ecosystem regeneration.
• Retreats, trainings, festivals and regenerative community gatherings.
